Chronoeidoscope

2022

Mixed media, TAKKK Tammiku and Kohila, 2022

Time transforms all the moments, places and people that have been into shimmering glass beads in the kaleidoscope of history and reflects them a thousand times beyond recognition on its mirror-smooth surface. What remains recognizable and visible from the past in the future? Which fragments will remain remembered and which will fade away as vibrations in the space between memories?

Where we stand now – people have once lived. They have dreamed, loved and suffered, worked and created their own homes, raised children, just like us. But all creation has the potential to be interrupted, stagnant, forgotten, and wild after a few breaths in history, depending on the ability and values of the present to see beyond this process.

Chronoeidoscope comes from the Greek words kronos (“time”), eïdos (“form”), and skopeïn (“to look”).

A pair of works – one is located in front of Tammiku Manor, the other in front of Kohila Paper Mill.
