Ülo Pärnitsa Memorial in Ülemiste City

2018

Valukoja 8, Ülemiste City, Tallinn, 2018

In 2018, a lifelike bronze memorial to Ülo Pärnitsa, created by Elo Liiv, was unveiled in Ülemiste City. The sculpture, located in front of the representative office towers of Öpiku House at Valukoja 8, depicts Ülo Pärnitsa, the founder of the Ülemiste City campus, a long-time leading figure of Mainor, a pioneer of new-age education, and a great visionary, sitting on a bench. Pärnitsa’s nature is well captured, his humor and enthusiasm, as well as his incessant energy and hard work, are only momentarily paused to catch a glimpse of the realization of his visions – but even then he is unable to do so quite calmly. Pärnits was a person who did not put emphasis on external things, but did value ambition and passion, and above all, a person’s thirst for knowledge. His life experience and knowledge, his words of advice to future generations, are worth reading over and over again.
